What would you do, if you had to start again????

Canon 5D Mark 2 and 24-105mm f/4 L because of the superior image quality and HD video recording :-) Ahh but alas, it's just a fantasy for me at the moment... I'm almost completely skint lol! Joe

    First Macro lens

The Sigma 150mm and Tamron SP AF 90mm are both outstanding macro lenses! Have a look through the many reviews on the internet (ephotozine reviews are excellent) and that should help you make up your mind. Generally, unless you're going for the wide-angle look, the longer the focal length the...

    Looking to buy some filters

I think having a standard P Series holder attached to such a wide-angle lens will result in vignetting (darkening of image corners) but, like you said, a specialised wide-angle holder should fix this. However, if price is an issue, then you can always hand-hold your ND Grads in front of the...

    Best Tripod for my budget

I've got a Giottos 9351B with a Giottos MH7001 which is brilliant! I'd highly recommend it. Joe

    Looking to buy some filters

A Hoya 77mm Pro1 DMC Circular Polariser would be perfect for your Tokina, and then I'd suggest you have a look at the Cokin Z-Pro ND8 and the Cokin Z-Pro ND4 Grad and ND8 Grad which are large in size - perfect for a super-wide-angle lens. You might want to get a UV filter for protection. Hope...

    Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 opinions?

I absolutely love mine! Razor-sharp wide open and ridiculously sharp stopped down. Fast, accurate focusing. Great DOF. Top-class lens which I would highly recommend! :-) Joe

How many hits does your photography gallery website get per day?

I get about 6 hits a day on my website... not very many :-( Can't seem to get more visitors.

    New Lowepro Bag

I love Lowepro too, they're like a tardis! :-) Have a look at the Lowepro Mini Trekker AW - I've used this bag for over a year now and it really is excellent! You can pick them up quite cheaply, around £80 I think. If you're looking for something even bigger then the Nature Trekker AW is...

    Photographic courses

Have you looked at BTEC courses in photography? They're very good apparently, though I don't know if you can do them entirely at home or not. Joe

    Sensor Cleaner

Thanks for all the info everyone! I'll have a look at the tutorial (thanks for the link Bill!) and will probably go and buy a sensor-cleaning kit. ianm79, can I ask where you got your kit from? I don't really want spend £70 or so on getting both my cameras cleaned and then be camera-less for...

    Greek photographer arrested in London

I was asked to shoot a 7 year old girl's party for one of my Mum's friends... so I did, but even though all the birthday girl's friend's Mum's said it would be fine, I still felt pretty awkward. I guess it's just the society I've grown up in but it feels wrong (for me) to photograph little kids...

    Need a bag

I have a Kata DC 443 which is a great bag for carrying less gear about. I can fit my flashgun, two DSLRs with biggish lenses attached plus accessories. http://www.kata-bags.com/product.asp?p_Id=393&Version=Photo Joe
