you could always try GIMP its free and would do what your looking for it has the same type of tools as photoshop and there are plenty of tutorials on the web for it thats the software i started with before buying cs5

would have to agree use GIMP if thats all u use it for

i done it with layers on cs6 basically paint over the top of everything on seperate layers i.e hair,face,dress,grass,trees ect..
