    Quikdraw! What a brilliant invention!

I'm sure you could have it wherever Joe, I think it's just on a belt. If it was in the central position people would REALLY think you were compensating for something... It's probably as secure as a bag I reckon, it needs lifting up to the pointing outwards position to remove the lens. You...

Tis true. Perhaps a tool for indoors. Could always keep it under your coat though!

    Quikdraw! What a brilliant invention!

Carrying your lenses with no bag, no rear caps, no second body - how good! "The holder start in a locked vertical position, and to attach a lens you just bayonet it into place, securing the glass and allowing the holder to be lowered. To liberate that fresh prime, you tilt it up and give it...

    keeping your equipment clean

Some lenses (my 24-105 and 100-400) actually pump air through the body when you change focal lengths. Having a block in the body would cause the air to go through a route in the lens where it shouldn't and you may end up with more dust on your glass!

    Why not make sensors square?

Don't forget the need for a bigger mirror and viewfinder optics.

URGENT: advice needed for a photoshoot tomorrow

I don't agree that posting things on the internet means you should accept rude responses from people, especially not on the "friendliest forum"... And if you'd said that second part the first time round, it wouldn't have gotten peoples backs up. How your first statement read was as follows...

URGENT: advice needed for a photoshoot tomorrow

Iacovos, I would recommend using a tripod to make things easier. You can stand away from the camera and get a better idea of the scene (it helps me anyway) And since you have plenty of time available I would try and avoid a flash and make use of what light is available. Might be easier to make...

URGENT: advice needed for a photoshoot tomorrow

Don't be so pretentious. There is no way to take that other than the wrong way. How else do you learn other than by trying new things and asking for advice? Not everyone is as great as you and can just instantly imagine the perfect image.

I need something wider than my 50mm 1.8 (£500 budget)

Ah well, it was worth a try!

Buuuuttttt..... If you DID sell the 30D and 55-250mm you'd get around £350. Then you could get a 70-200mm F/4L for £350... and that £500 spent on a 5D.... Hahaha :whistling:

The 5DI is the best value camera out there in my completely unbiased (not) opinion. Using it with your 50mm would give you shots that would require a 31mm F/1.1 on your 30D (from the same distance). But it does make future glass more expensive.

Best idea ever. For 500 quid you can get a 5d! Then your 50mm will become wider by 1.6 :D

I have never owned one, but I have never heard a bad thing said about the Canon 17-55mm F/2.8 IS. Second hand around £550 though...

Trouble focussing at fairly dark wedding reception

It may be different on your camera but my 5D2 has an option that enables or disables "hunt when AF impossible". Sometimes the lens can't lock from where it is but when it hunts it can lock on. Maybe it's that setting?
