Filter Pouches for my Lee 100x150 filters - 2 specific questions

Hi guys, just wanted to say thanks for all your advice, particularly those who managed to dissuade me from splashing out on the Lee pouch. The reviews I've read on the Lowpro one suggest that the filter holder/foundation kit will fit in there so I'm giving that a go. Awaiting delivery now.

Filter Pouches for my Lee 100x150 filters - 2 specific questions

Hi, I have seven different Lee 100 x 150 filters, a Hitech Reverse Grad Filter of similar size, a Heliopan Polariser and obviously the Lee Filter holder/foundation kit and adaptor rings. I am trying to choose between the Lee Field Pouch for 100 and the Lowepro Street and Field Filter Pouch...

Cornwall Portrait Photographer required for online dating photos

Hello all, Having been single for a year I've been on the online dating for a few weeks but feel that my photos aren't really doing me justice. I'm no Brad Pitt but I think I look ok if I've scrubbed up and I'm shot at the right angle :-) I'm wondering if anybody can recommend a good portrait...

    Eversure Camera Insurance

Would anyone care to have a look at the policy wording and see what they think? http://www.eversure.com/camera/?e=1&utm_source=camerainsurance&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=amateur_uk&equipmentvalue=6000&europedays=0&worldwidedays=0&publicliability=1000000

    Eversure Camera Insurance

Yes, it is a bit. It seems that at best they are new to photography insurance, which at best isn't great.

    Eversure Camera Insurance

Hi everyone, I know there are loads of threads on here about camera insurance but I am looking for advice on particular on Eversure, and couldn't find any particular threads on them. Has anyone insured their kit with Eversure? If so how have you found them to deal with? I'd be particularly...

    Planning to go full frame.

Like an idiot I was forgetting that 24mm on a crop is equivalent to about 17mm full-frame, so a 24-105mm would be wide enough for perhaps half of my landscape images but I would still need a 17-40mm too. To John, the OP, what sort of focal lengths do you most commonly use for your landscape...

    Planning to go full frame.

When I go full frame (100% for landscapes) I'll have to ask myself similar questions. The question is how many super wide angle shots do you usually take? For myself on my crop body nearly all my landscape shots are at a focal length of between 10mm and 24mm. So a 24-105 would not be wide enough...

Canon 7D v Canon 550D and Canon 40D for LANDSCAPES

Cheers for the advice guys, the only L lens I currently own is the 70-200 f/4 (non-IS version) for the dog shooting. I think at the moment that going full-frame would be too expensive in terms of getting the glass required.

Canon 7D v Canon 550D and Canon 40D for LANDSCAPES

I'd love a 5D mark II, and could stretch to one, but as you say John I'd need the lenses to go with it and I couldn't afford them at the moment. Maybe I just need to get saving...

Canon 7D v Canon 550D and Canon 40D for LANDSCAPES

No IQ improvement? Am I right in thinking it's the same or a very similar sensor to the 550D? I don't own any weather sealed lenses I'm afraid!

Canon 7D v Canon 550D and Canon 40D for LANDSCAPES

Hi, just thinking about the possibility of buying a 7D for action shots of my dogs, but I'm also wondering what advantages it would bring to my landscape work compared to the 550D and 40D that I already own?

    Canon 17-40 f4 v Tamron 17-50 f2.8 FOR LANDSCAPES

Thanks for the advice guys, I think you've all saved me a fair bit of money there! I'll stick with my Tamron for now, I'm reasonably happy with the shots I've been getting anyway, although I'll perhaps opening up the aperture a bit as suggested. What I should have said in my original post is...

    Canon 17-40 f4 v Tamron 17-50 f2.8 FOR LANDSCAPES

I currently own a Tamron 17-50 (non-vc) but I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to a Canon 17-40 f/4 L for my coastal landscape work? I use a 550d and 40d but may go up to full-frame when the funds allow! Will the 17-40 offer much advantage over the 17-50 on a crop camera? Better sharpness...

    50d or 60d as a second body

Another big factor is how useful do you think the 60d's adjustable lcd screen would be to you?
