Very tempted by this lens to replace my 70-300mm vr, also looking at the Sigma 150-600 sport. Which seems to trump this lens on reviews. They don't make it easy for you!

After a little more digging and it seems the Sigma 17-70 f/2.8 OS Macro is good contender. Nice focal range and seems to be quite high regarded and has some good reviews.
