no, no 1394 port. I don't have a camcorder or any tapes, i was just thinking of doing a little project with analog video. But i wanted to work out how to transfer everything before jumping into it. thanks

    Mini DV and HI8

Thanks for all the replied, my PC doesnt have a fireware port, but will look at getting a PCI Card. Glad to see people are still using Mini Dv. Do all mini dv cameras have a fireware port then to connect to?

    Mini DV and HI8

Don't know if I will get any replies, might be worth putting this in the film section bit as well. Any one still use either of them? And how do you transfer the tapes on to the computer? I heard capture cards are one way around it? Thanks

    Medium Format Film Rolls

Sorry, completely forgot about supermarkets not doing 120 :( duh, silly me ;) You can buy single rolls of film from Discount films direct, (instead of 5 packs) so you can try different films and see what you like.

    Medium Format Film Rolls

I am guessing you will get the film processed at a lab? Asda, snappy snaps etc? If so i would pick, Kodak Porta 400, nice tones and fast enough that you can keep your shutter high, to stop camera shake. Or if you plan to Develop your own, can't go wrong with Ilford HP5 400 or if you want...
