My parents house doesn't have a number. Cul-de-sac of 12 houses built in the 20s. Does cause some confusion for deliveries sometimes! And two houses have added numbers, but its ones they like personally. So there's now No7 immediately adjacent to No10 !!! :D

Thanks for that. I tried the 'eraser trick' on the contacts, but there's no difference. The contacts look clean and fine. Will contact those repair places, see what they can tell me in terms of cost to fix. Cheers, Steve

Hopefully this is the right section to post in! Tell me if not. I keep getting a communication error 01 with this lens and my 450D. It *seems* more prevalent when outside and in colder temperatures. I've turned off stabilisation and auto focus, but to no avail. Any ideas? If not, can...
