Thanks for the replies. I have discovered it's noise created by the viewfinder electronics, so I have to switch of the viewfinder and use the back LCD instead when recording. This solves the problem. Thanks.

Hi as a new x100 user I wonder if anyone can help me out? When I record video there seems to be noise going on in the back ground of the recording from the camera. Is this normal or is there something I am doing wrong perhaps? thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I actually like working with a prime lens. I find with a kit 18 55 for example I distort people when I don't realize I am shooting too wide when close up. I did this with the kit lens on my E-p1 when shooting some sets of my girlfriend thinking I had done some good...
