If you want to scratch the Leica itch then you can pick up an excellent ‘regular’ Q2 for significantly less than £4K. What features of the reporter version do you consider make it worth the extra money for you?
I bought a Q2 off here a while back and am enjoying it. Other than the lack of a...
I’ve been on a few cruises, but not been to the Norwegian fjords yet, although I did go to the ones in New Zealand a few years back.
For scenic places I have my Z7ii and 24-200 as that covers near / far. I normally also take a compact if I don’t want to carry the Nikon round all day.
My advice...
Hi Kim, what is the nature of the research? Happy to help but I don’t want to waste yours or my time if whatever it is you’re researching isn’t something I can help you with.
Bought a Nikon 1.4TC from them a couple of weeks back and it took about 10 days to arrive but as it cost £200 less than a new one from the likes of Wex and £100 less than second hand, I was good with that. Weirdly, it was hand posted at a post office in Manchester.
For large prints I always use DS Colour Labs. Used to use Photobox and they were OK, but I like the fact that there’s a better selection of papers at DS. I tend to use Maxima paper for my black and whites.
Ilford do lovely black and white prints but by jingo they’re expensive. I sent the same...
I had one for a while and yes it’s very capable, and if you’ve never had a DSLR or mirrorless camera before then you’ll be happy with the image quality.
It’s still a biggish camera though, but the focal length of the lens is incredible and incredibly useful.
I use handgrips on my Z6ii and Z7ii. I found the cameras a little too small in the hand, but too big with a battery grip for everyday use. So I managed to track down a Meike and Wepoto handgrips for them and the cameras now fit perfectly in the hand. Not easy things to find though for some reason.
If I can buy used from a UK dealer or on here I prefer to do so. Most of my gear has been bought this way.
But I did buy my Z7ii plus 24-120 from Panamoz as it was cheaper than buying body only used in the UK. And I bought a 100-400 telephoto from there too as I couldn’t find a used one in the...
There is a fondness for exotic animals round Chorley. There is (or was) a guy in Euxton who had an emu that he’d walk on a lead, never saw him myself but some friends have

The 24-70 F4 was my first lens when I went to the Z system, but I followed it with a 24-120 lens within a few months. That’s on my Z7ii 80% of the time as it’s so versatile, but my daughter has been using the 24-70 a lot on my Z6ii a lot of late and when I looked at one of the files I was...
Smaller lenses and bodies / less weight. That is all. Couldn’t really care less about the other bells and whistles, in fact I didn’t even know about most of them until I read this discussion.
