I'm actually wondering how the 70-200 Z with a 2x would fare against the 100-500 (which I have).
Ok you're giving up 100mm on the long end but the test shots at The Digital Picture suggest the IQ is basically identical.
I want the RF 70-200 Z - badly!
I have the EF II and love it and it’s one of only two EF lenses I have left.
When the RF model appeared I was kind of happy that I didn’t like the extending design as I was perfectly happy to stick with my EF and had no GAS at all over it.
Then they released...
Exactly what I'm doing with the Hahnel. Already have an Anker powerbank so can just chuck that and the charger in my backpack and charge batteries while I'm out and about and away from power.
Well the Hahnel turned up today and, coincidentally, so did my R5mk2 with a spare LP-E6P so I decided to test the charger out with the spare battery.
The battery clearly was't totally flat and the charge level displayed on the charger quickly ramped up to about 25% so I presume that's roughly...
I don't think the Hahnel charges any faster than the Canon LC-E6, in fact I'd be surprised if it charged as fast.
I think they're just claiming that, as it can charge two batteries at once, the total time to charge both is less than using the LC-E6 for each in turn.
Yes I fully agree with you...
I also used to do weddings (casually) back when I had a couple of DLSRs but not since going mirrorless.
I've generally found that two full LP-E6NHs will get me through a typical day of shooting but it can be marginal if I'm trigger-happy, such as days at wildlife centres etc.
I've always shied...
That's a good shout on the airline regs. Loose batteries often have to be carried in your cabin bag.
I've ordered a spare LP-E6P with the R5II so I'll have two but will definitely pick up a couple more at B&H, along with some 512GB CF Express cards.
Am honestly wondering why there don't appear to be any decent USB chargers for Canon LP-E6 batteries (all versions).
With modern powerbanks able to put out serious wattage, there's no reason a USB charger couldn't charge a battery as quickly as the regular LC-E6.
All there seems to be, however...
That's reassuring as I've just orded a mk2. I've just got used to the R5 chewing through batteries when I moved from my old DLSR.
Going to NY in May so may well pick up some more batteries and memory cards at B&H.
Oh yeah I get that but, now I have the 50 1.2, I figure that's my go to when I specifically want the shallow DoF. Of course it does mean carrying both the 24-105 and 50 and swapping between which is more cumbersome. Like I said we'll see how I get on.
