One point I should add is that I am a complete photography n00b but love gadgets ;) though I am attempting to justify to myself that starting with a good piece of kit is the way to go. And you are helping with that decision :D
Currently have a D70 (its feeling old now) and considering upgrading to a D300. Its a serious jump but I thought it would be better to go straight to that instead of a D80. Thoughts ?
There is just so much choice out there :) As previously said just need to ensure that when using my 70-300mm lens fully extended it is not to heavy for the tripod and therefore causes stability issues.
I guess max sort of 10 miles walking. Pretty strong so do not mind a slightly heavier one. Main concern is that it can handle the lens weight and keep the stability.
Thanks. I have a few hundred £s to spend so would like something that will last me a good while and support future upgrades on camera and lenses eg. D300.
