(For those who ever had one, it is a Panasonic G3 clone but bigger, which is a really great efficient shape!)

I didn't know the reason for the netting on hedges.
Now I understand the reason it looks very sensible : animals will nest at other locations instead, leaving the area free for whatever.
Logical.
I would tweak it darker and a lot more menacing, run it through something to get a gritty tone and layer that in parts.
Catchlights might ruin it and make it pleasant.
He is going to remove your teeth slowly in the bowels of a cooling tower. Good photo.
I wandered into Wilkinsons in Carlisle and they just happened to have an RP in stock,
very nice in the hand, good heft, buttons in all the right places.
The strangest thing : they didn't have it on display!?
I asked them if they had the new Canon and they knew exactly what I was asking about...
I don't see "Photography" as a subject but as a group of related but separate techniques/specialities,
in fact being really really good at one aspect might make another aspect crazily difficult ... just a thought : I never learned it myself.
...perhaps Imgculley/Leon isn't going to be taking the photos himself, just enabling good lighting for a series of phone-weilding clients to take pictures of their niknaks in a tiny space ...
Anyway, I'm itching to find out the whys of all this.
Do you have any of the same shots (in similar poor conditions) where you used RAW+Jpeg so we can see if the SOOC Jpegs are nicer than your 'dull' example?
