I've just bought a 7d2 after finally finding out my 7D shutter count today (had a few shutter/AF problems with it)- 301832.. if the mk2 lasts as long as my mk1 I will be a very happy lady :) arriving tomorrow and taking it out on Sunday for horse trials so will let you all know how I get on...

Yes dye sub is your only option if you want good professional quality prints. I've got a DS40, it paid for itself within 2 weeks of buying it. Now saving for a DS80 ;)

Kata rain cover. Saved my camera many times, as an equestrian event tog you are out in all weathers. Some of our most profitable days have been when we keep shooting in the rain because everyone else puts their cameras away ;)

Can anyone tell me what is involved with servicing a 7D and how much it roughly costs? Contemplating sending mine off for a service but not sure what to expect both in terms of what work is done on it or how much it will set me back...

I couldn't send it to Canon as I'm not a CPS member and they quoted well over 3 weeks to get the lens back to me, this was a Monday and I needed it the following Saturday for work. I'm not a CPS member, not eligable as I don't have enough kit. If I remember rightly the bill came in at £245.
