Canon Powershot A620 missing files from memory card

Hi I connected my Dad's Canon Powershot A620 to my laptop without installing the software. I couldn't see any files when I viewed the drive through 'My Computer' but my Dad is insistent that there were pictures on the camera before I plugged it in. Now I have taken a few more test pictures...
