I have previously used Jessops, and have been disappointed with the quality. My last set were done at DSCL. Can't fault them.

I used to have the 55-300 but found it very soft at 220-300. Changed to 70-300, which is much better. I think 300 is too short for bird photos.

I have an Omron one. I took it with me to the doctors and checked with theirs. It gave the same reading, so they accept the readings I get.

I am struggling to come up with one idea, and you post four. Lighting is good on the roses. A great feel to shot. Love the jigsaw. A good shot of a good picture. Not sure about the Prescott Hill Climb shot. I prefer the before shot. Excellent candle photo. I must have a go at this.

Thanks for the comments, Matt & Andy. Flash is not allowed. As you can see the horses do sometimes get spooked, so flash would be no good. The horse is only 10 months old and is quite new to showing. She gets a bit hyper when she has been in the ring - need to give her plenty of space. Owner...

Not a great shot. The light was poor, so ISO was wound up to 1000. Still only managed 1/80 sec @ f5.6 using my kit lens. Focus is a bit off as well. At least it keeps my 52 going :|

My wife was given a bunch of flowers as a thankyou for some knitting she had done. I managed to pinch one of the flowers :D. Had to use a reflector to get a bit of light in the centre of the flower - first time I have tried that.

Not very keen on this subject. Ended up taking a picture of one of my desk draws. The one that ends up with all the chargers and leads etc that I need occasionally. Now to go off and think about this weeks! Hopefully come up with something better.

Beautiful shot of the orchid. Pastel background works well. I will have to wait for my wifes orchid to flower so I can have a go.

The re-edit on Open is a good shot. I was going to make a few comments on the original, but you have corrected them in the re-edit. Clever idea.

Just to awkward I prefer the colour shot of the rose! Of the other two I would choose the single rose. I find the abstract rather fussy, and nothing grabs my eye. As Sonriendo says, the single rose looks like paper. Of your other shots, New Broom is great. That has got to be my favourite of...

I like the shot. The door is handle is really different. As Tina has said it is a shame the bottom has been cut off. Like the OOF figure in the background. Colours work well.

Thanks:thumbs: I did set the white balance in PSE. I think I have overdone it in levels, which has made the white background a little too white. Need more practice with PSE :thinking: I may go back and have another go at the dragons. The worms are not the most popular :lol:
