KK No 6 Little bittern The bird chooses a solitary reed to have greater visibility on the water surface. The next 2 photos are from the same pond.

KK No 5 Rosy starling. In Europe, it is found on the Balkan Peninsula, nesting in abandoned quarries between stones, but not every year.

KK No 4 Eurasian wryneck A very interesting bird, one of a kind. It has a long sticky tongue like a woodpecker's and can turn its head in all directions. Unfortunately, it can only be seen on the continent.

Can you illustrate your findings with examples Bill? If you are afraid of offending anyone you can use my photos, I would be happy to receive constructive criticism. All of them have undergone heavy photoshopping, even those taken close up with a sharp lens...
KK No 3 One of my most enjoyable summer photo shoots.Sitting on the riverbed, wearing 4mm neoprene, under the dense shade of the coastal trees.

From everything I've read I think the problem is with the camera. My friends complain about inconsistent focus. The R7 is just that good.
I shoot with the R6 and moving subject are always problematic for me regardless of the lens.
Of course not as bad as your picture, but I'm a perfectionist.
KK No2 European ground squirrel I took this photo while waiting for a Booted eagle to come down to hunt.

Great idea! I am a big fan of Des's photos. (the older ones don't open, hopefully it's a temporary problem). I hope that many colleagues will join this contest so that we can enjoy a variety of photographs. I myself plan to participate with the maximum number of photos, as long as I make ones...
I mostly shoot with EF 600 IS f4 III
I have a EF 100-400 f5.6 II
I've tried EF 300 f2.8 IS II
I guess with every version EF IS II and above will work fine.
I agree with everything LLP wrote.
For a long time I also considered that evf behavior is intolerable in this camera in that mode. But only recently I found that with relatively new generations of lenses the evf behaves decently and I even manage to get more in focus shots of fast flying birds.
Total score 8:5
Clear superiority of 100-400 II in three indicators:
1.Almost twice the shutter speed when shooting with a mechanical shutter with R6, which is important for birds in flight to avoid rolling shutter and jagged wings.
2. Ability to zoom, which is useful when you are hiding and a...
The usefulness of teleconverters for small aperture 5.6 lenses is questionable.
I use the third version of 1.4 at 100-400 II with R6, the autofocus is surprisingly fast.
I use 800/11 lens instead of 2x
I would also prefer a crop body instead of 1.4x, but the R7 doesn't have a good autofocus...
I use Nikon 8X30 E II. I keep it in the car so it's always with me. I like the wide field of view, the light weight and the 3D view of the object at close range.
In my opinion, stabilization is more important than the quality of the optics.
If it wasn't so expensive and heavy I would use the...
