    Panel Type reflectors

The sunbounces are getting very popular now, despite their priced nature. Personally I prefer the zebra screened version, not too harsh, and a little warmth. I know the LIME guys, they're really pushing the sunbounce usual over here. Compared to alternatives, well, most people have used...

    lighting gear cases

Hi All, I'm curious what people use for transporting their lighting stuff about. I have several bags for the big studio stuff, that's catered for. What I really would like to do is put together a small set, couple of short tripods, clamps, swivels, SB800's, triggers. A complete micro...

For those who use M all the time...

Using manual is second nature now, you just ''know'' and can react very quickly to changing settings. When I do switch to either priority mode, I find myself taking more time adjusting the one setting I do have control of plus the EV+/- stuff. it's just quicker in M. Odd huh.. Saying that...

    Any motorbiking photographers here?

A few years ago I did a trip down to the south of Germany, a 6 hour ride with all my gear in a lowepro computrekker. D2x plus heavy 2.8 lenses. Surprisingly it wasn't uncomfy at all. The uncomfy bit was the whole 6 hour ride in the rain.. I had the stock rain cover pulled over the backpack and...

    New Nikon 70-200/2.8 VR II

I was lucky enouygh to get a test of the D3 before it was out, it was an NPS day in Antwerp. They had a D3 and 500mm rig to play with but I asked if I could swap it for the 70-200 I had with me, a reluctant yes came. Ooops I said, vignettes a tad huh.. it was very apparent in the viewfinder...

    70-200mm with monopod?

I most certainly would switch it off for the shooting you describe in your opening post. Randomly moving objects and VR aren't suited. Racing motor vehicles with a predefined linear path can benefit from it.

Best of both worlds then and a good bit of experience to put in your camera bag I think :)

    70-200mm with monopod?

switch the VR off if you're using a monopod. It's not going to stop moving ponies from moving. I used the 70-200 on a 'pod that's fitted with a ball head and I leave the ball unlocked to allow me maximum movement but also giving a serious amount of stability. You just grasp the ball in your...

    Red Carpet Event what lens

Judge when you are there, if you are carpet-side. 24-70. easy. The 70-200 has min focal distance of what.. 1.7metres. Great as they get onto the rug but if they come close, you miss the shot. 2 bodies would be me solution but not everyone has that luxury. leave the 85mm ballast at home

    mobile phone photography..

camerabag is one of my favourite iPhone apps right now, along with Polarize. My whole thing with the mobile photos is that I don't use them as they are, they all get splashed through a one-hit processor on the phone, just to make them that different. Out of the phone pics are good, but then...

    Simple question!

Windows? In the folder, go to View>Details then click the ''Name'' header on the file name column, it'll sort all into ascending or click again for decending order. Hope that helps Rob

    mobile phone photography..

Maybe a touchy subject here, I know it is in other places but here goes.. As someone who lugs around big heavy camera gear as a day job, I became increasingly frustrated with lugging the same kit around as part of my hobby, days out and the odd shot.. I gradually chopped it down to a day-bag...
