I would like to add this to my previous post. Having found out how to alter the ISO when I took this I did seriously chimp to my wife about how I have now moved my abilities a step forward. So the point is, I chimp but I learn at the same time. So to the OP I do both and look forward to more...

I'm fully self taught. However I do want to keep learning. Example and dont mock please: I have just learned how to alter the ISO setting on my camera from auto to higher settings. So armed with this knowledge I went out last night and shot a series of images to test my new found ability...

When you say format the card...how do you do that? Is it just a matter of deleting everything on the card prior to starting? See...I'm going to learn something new today...I hope.

Good question. I'm happy with the gear I have,but I do need to get more imaginative and just try to learn more by taking more pic's. Also I really have to move away from the mindset I had 25 years ago when I was last involved in the hobby.

Yes there is. I was talking slightly tounge in cheek.:) Being an old f*rt now its harder to take it all in. ie: Only yesterday I learned how to link my camera directly to my laptop and by pass the card, shooting directly into the laptop. Now that's worth learning. I have so much to catch up...

When returning to photography after a 20+ year absence, throw away everything you previously knew, 'cause it is totally irrelevant to todays medium, and start learning all over again. Which is what I'm having to do, but its fun.

I have the other set up with these. 2 softboxes with those bulbs and stands. I dont think the bulbs are strong enough for studio other than fill in, so....I removed the bulb from one and mounted a powerfull flashgun [long cable ties] in the softbox firing directly through the difuser. Now that...

I only buy ' Photoshop Creative ' on a regular basis. The others I pick up as and when I'm in a shop. I like ' Digital Photo ' and ' Photo Plus '.
