GloForce rechargeable lighting for macro and close-up?

Has anyone tried these small lights - https://gloforce.com/ ? We were at a model railways exhibition yesterday and a guy there was demonstrating them. They’re designed for craftwork but look as if they might also be useful for macro, with their various ways of mounting. Colour temperature is...

    Cat's Cat's and more Cat's APITB

I’ve only just seen this old post. I tried the Silent Roar pellets linked above to try to keep next door’s cat from crapping in our garden. They made absolutely no difference, so save your ££s. I have to go out regularly with a shovel and then dump the mess in the dog waste bin out in the street.

    Anyone mill their own flour?

Not as long as that, but it was hard work, all the same. I loved the video - they are tough, aren’t they!

    Anyone mill their own flour?

Shipton Mill offers several organic stoneground wholemeal flours as well as lots of other interesting ones. They do mail order and delivery is free if the order is more than £30. We’ve made all our own bread for many years, including sourdough, and put in an order twice a year. We have a hand...

Need 3/8 to 1/4 adapter for monopod

Hi I have a Giotto MML 3260B monopod where the (male) thread to attach the head is 3/8". I've been using it with a Redsnapper RSH-12 ball head which fits fine. After a while I decided that for some uses I wanted a lighter, smaller head and got a RSH-61/30. However it has a 1/4" (female) thread...

    D200 to D300 ?

I have never used a D200 so can't compare them, but I love my D300, and have no qualms about using ISO3200 if necessary.

Monthly Steve ETC 2013 Feb pic's added

That's amazing - it looks like some weird alien butterfly.

Monthly Jason's 2013 ETC thread - February completed.

Good star trail shot, nicely framed by the foreground trees. I envy you having such an uninterrupted view of the pole star from your garden. Maybe you could try a bit of light painting on the trees the next time? I'd never even heard of orbs till I found this challenge. I like this one The...

Monthly beckyboy's 2013-12 ETC - Some Droste effect added

I'm impressed by the symmetry and pattern of you physiogramme, though it might have looked better done with a smaller point of light. I like both your star trails - in your first attempt the foreground trees are nice and still but your chosen second one is brill the way it shows the stars...

    Monthly rpn's 2013-12 E.T.C. Challenge - December 12.4 Writings on Photo Added

That's a good set that you have posted. I'm particularly impressed by the orbs - the last one with the bridge is quite terrifying. Well done!

    Monthly Tracer's 2013-ETC; January

A challenge with a difference - I really like it! However I have really struggled with this first month and the results are pretty much rubbish. It didn't help that I forgot about it until after the Christmas lights came down. Still, at least I have tried and it has been a very useful learning...
