Beginner Common Landscape Photography Mistakes and how to avoid them!

Resonance isn't something that photographers can easily measure in a meaningful way though. At least from my experience, the heavier aluminium tripod has always been more stable than CF ones my friends have been using. Also, good quote from someone on Reddit: "On the tripod note, definitely just...

Beginner Common Landscape Photography Mistakes and how to avoid them!

Well not vibrating would be important but speaking from a 'laws of motion' point of view... Force=mass x acceleration. If you wanted to accelerate a heavier mass then you need a stronger force. Or the same force will accelerate a heavier mass less. Sure if one tripod has really wobbly joints...

Beginner Common Landscape Photography Mistakes and how to avoid them!

I knew that would be a contentious issue! It depends what situations you're using them in I guess. All other factors being the same the heavier tripod will be more stable though, physically that must be the case. However, as I'm sure you're aware the Carbon Fibre ones are often built to a higher...

Beginner Common Landscape Photography Mistakes and how to avoid them!

That was the intention! I think as with any hobby there is a lot to learn when starting and I was trying to make things a little simpler by making the simple mistakes obvious and helping people hopefully improve faster than they would otherwise!

Flickr adding tags - is it just me?

Yeah, don't see much of a problem with this! More tags, more views. We can delete them if necessary. All part of search engine optimisation!

    Are You Beach Body Ready?

I don't think they're disagreeing as such. I'm saying this as a medic myself. As a public health problem then unhealthy eating is undoubtedly the bigger problem. It's also undoubtedly much harder to get someone to do something like go to the gym than it is to get them to not do something (like...

    Are You Beach Body Ready?

I think in general exercise is much more important than diet. Of course they're both important but I think a good exercise regime can make up for a multitude of 'sins' in terms of diet. I'd also personally rather eat what I like and have fun exercising than do less exercise and constantly be...

    Noisy graphic card fan

Someone suggested earlier but I wouldn't recommend using a vacuum cleaner anywhere near the graphics card, vacuums generate static which is generally best avoided round electronics!

Another ssd question, well a couple really.

I'm considering getting an SSD too, trying to put it off as long as possible though as the price really seems to be dropping just now. Figure I could get double the size in a few months for a similar price. I suppose that sums up computing and electronics in general though!

    which 24-70 for my d800

Definitely the Tamron, had my hands on both lenses and much prefer Tamron (which I now own)! The VC is a life-saver too, very effective when you either can't or don't want to use a tripod!

    Any feedback on my website?

Hi, not sure if this is the right place for this or not but I've recently set up a website for my photography and I'm looking for any tips/ suggestions to improve things: http://www.tomfosterphotos.com It's Smugmug based, made a theme myself by editing the Nyx theme. I'm already planning on...
