My bad, that's an old setting :( Set browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion to 0, and restart.

browser.places.createdSmartBookmarks - set that to false, and restart.

    You need extensions.checkUpdateSecurity for those.

It used to be "this gun is loaded", then someone reckoned it was potentially offensive :bonk: maddog.mark: go to about:config, go through the warning, right click in the list of options and go New -> Boolean, type "extensions.checkCompatibility" in the next box, then select false. Restart...

Go to about:config and add the boolean option extensions.checkCompatibility, set to false.

If you push enter, or as part of the dropdown? The latter definitely isn't default behaviour, and Fx2 did a Google "I'm feeling lucky" if the URL you entered didn't work.

Firefox 3, released today, supports colour managed web browsing

Safari only colour manages images with a profile embedded, whereas Firefox tries it for everything except plugins (Flash etc.). From here. Stuart Parmenter's one of the developers at Mozilla, Dave Hyatt's a dev at Safari.

There's no ActiveX involved in that at all - it's all Java. The Photobox upload works here, with Java 6 update 5 and Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008061505 Minefield/3.0pre ID:2008061505, which is identical to RC3. In what way does it not work?

ActiveX is an IE-only thing. There used to be an extension that gave some basic ActiveX support, but it hasn't been updated in 3 years. There's more information about it here

Free Goodies when subscribing to DSLR User

Took the words out of my mouth. Subscribed on the 30th, and bar an email confirming my order, I've had nothing since - it did say allow 28 days though, I'm just being impatient as usual :bonk: Out of interest, do you get any choice of what colour you get - or if you don't, what colour do you get?

    What have I done?

No, that's just a manual way of adding things to about:config.
