Ahh OK. I only have the stock lens for my 400D at the moment. So was going to get a Nifty Fifty as I need something with a larger aperture.
So it sounds like it's pointless getting a filter for these lenses as they are cheap ones and I have no intention of wanting any effects... yet.
OK well...
I think people have got the wrong impression of what I am looking for in a filter. I'm not after one to protect the lens. Just filters I should be using.
I'm new at this but I assume there are filters to bring the blue out in the sky etc?...
Hello all!
I have been idle for a while because of money problems. But I now have a job I love and some spare money. So I thought before I spend it on going out I should buy a Nifty Fifty from Kerso and some filters. However, I have no idea what filters I need, how much they will be and where...
If you find any places let me know
Let's hope the weather picks up.
Truro isn't the best. Try outside Newquay such as Crantock, Hollywell bay. You could take a trip to the Eden Project.
For some ruff sea shots though Newquay beaches have the cliffs. Lustyglaze is a really nice small...
I'm sure Pete will explain himself but I'm guessing he did the article so he can pass on his knowledge. Reading a magazine is completely different from a course. There is no deadlines, no one if pushing education at you and it doesn't have to be written like it's from a educational standard.
I...
You have summed up the course quiet well. The problem I have is more time seemed to be spent on other artists work than my own. As for the darkroom side, I know it's a important part of photography, but knowing I have more flexibility digitally really puts me off darkroom as it's a much longer...
I just wondered how many of you learnt photography in college/university etc or if you just have it as a hobby?
Reason being (you're all going to hate me for this) is that I have dropped photography course at college. Why? There's a couple of reasons.
I wasn't learning what I wanted to. It was...
Well that was a read :D
Thanks everyone. Fingers crossed the weather picks up tomorrow.
Haha, I see my title has been changed again!
barsbyart. Yeah while Newquay isn't a bad place I'm well aware that anywhere, anytime my stuff could get nicked. Luckily for them it's not much at the moment...
Toggling proofing on and off does change the colours slightly.
When proofing is on (says monitor at the end) the image is darker and looks more like what Vista Photo Gallery shows. It's not as dark, but its closer to it.
Advanced settings are all set to system default which are:
sRGB...
OK it turns out I cant re create the problem today. Well I can and I can't. lol
Basically even if I export to jpg or edit in PS then export all that happens is I get a slightly darker image than the one I am seeing on the screen in PS and LR.
So that's my first problem. I assume it means me...
My monitor is uncalibrated. But for example let's take a image of some floorboards which is in very low light. In LR I mess around so I can see all the detail of the floorboards. The grain and knots etc. Then I export to JPG with sRGB and the final image is dark and I can't see any detail.
I...
Sadly none of my friends are interested in photography. Also most are now working or at uni... but that's a whole different part of my life lol.
This is what I intend to do this weekend. I'm going to go out to a small village and just try to be a bit more creative in my shots.
I can see where...
Yep I had to lookup how to spell it  :D
OK so I'm starting to get very annoyed with myself recently. I bought a nice camera thinking I could go places and really get stuck in and take some nice shots. But that's not happening.
I am really interesting in music photography. I love...
Hi,
I have been exporting my RAW files which have been developed straight out of lightroom as jpgs. However it doesn't seem to want to keep the colour settings.
If I edit from LR to PS then export the file from PS to JPG it looks fine.
I think it's to do with the colour settings but this just...
