The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

That’s great advice, thanks. I have played with a Q3 43 but managed to stay away so far. Really I want something compact that will do wide angle and long zoom work for me, that isn’t my Sony A73. And the fact I can stick Mrs T’s 23 2.8 on it is a nice bonus.

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

That’s a good point, thanks. Mrs T has an X-T3 which, while not huge at all, is larger than I’d like. I’m after something which can do “X100” duty (eg with the 23 2.8) but also be flexible enough to work at long range and wide as well. I think I need to visit a Fuji dealer and handle a bunch of...

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Wow what a selection. The sheer variety of lenses in the lineup has me rather flummoxed. 8-16 2.8 is a new one on me, I'll have to take a look at that. 70-300 sounds like a good option too. 75 1.2 looks amazing! Keep the ideas coming!

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Hello Fuji fans. I need your help. I hate my Sony A7iii. I have a 16-35 2.8 MK2, and a 100-400 with 1.4x extender, and a Chinese 50 0.95 (Mitakon?). I can't stand the camera, but the image quality is pretty good. However I want to sell the lot and replace it with an X-E5 and some lenses. Which...

    Skye At Night book project

That’s that. The final book from my online stock sold on Christmas Eve. There won’t be any more. I have decided not to do another print run simply due to the large up-front cost of printing and the sheer logistics of handling boxes of hundreds and hundreds of books. So I am closing this...

    Glas: book

Things are going very nicely. Only 8 copies of Glas are left, with orders coming from all around the world. Bloody brilliant. I am particularly chuffed with the reviews & feedback I am receiving. I’ll collate everything I’ve received and post it up - I’m waiting for another review to be...

    Glas: book

Glas had its first public outing today. No fancy schmancy book launch for me. Just a local Christmas craft fair here in Skye. Keeping it real. With only 22 books left from the strictly limited print run of 75 (pre-orders and Kickstarter backers have snapped up the others), I was delighted to do...

    Official Talk Leica thread

Request: can we get this thread back on to talking about Leica equipment please. Lovely photos and all that, but they should really be in one of the photo sharing forums unless, for example, you are doing a comparison of two lenses and using images to show the differences between the two.

    Glas: book

And it's real. Here's the final production version of Glas, copy #1. Only 75 copies will ever exist, all signed, numbered and stamped. Well over half are already sold, and there are only 27 copies left which makes me very happy. I just need to get the slipcases made, which is happening now...

    Glas: book

Thanks Adrian. I suspect some are waiting to see the finished article. I imagine they will all be gone by Christmas.

    Glas: book

Quick Friday update. I’m now at 111% funded which is great. I have given my printer, Page Bros in Norwich, the go ahead to start printing. I’ve been working on finalising the cover design, and next up will be creating the presentation slip case that the books will go into. I also need to get...

Used Leica CL worth it in 2025

The CL is great - I loved mine. But I think a Ricoh GR3 would be more suitable for you. Properly pocketable and amazingly capable. Get a used one, prices will be dropping now the new GR4 is out.

    lens from Japan

I have used buyee.jp to buy local market only (JDM) watches from Japan. They are an auction intermediary for eBay Japan, Yahoo auctions (surprisingly big over there) and others. Through them you buy the item. It is shipped to buyee and they ship it on to the UK after they have inspected it to...

    Glas: book

Pre-orders for Glas are now open on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lens57/glas This is a big learning process for me. I am using Kickstarter for the first time to benefit from the platform's global reach and the way it handles all the money for all-or-nothing campaigns like...
