The 35mm DX has viewing angle 44 degrees.
The 50mm FX has viewing angle 46 degrees on FX but only 31.5 on DX.
I was surprised when I figured out that the 35mm on a crop camera was give or take the same as a 50mm on a full frame. Anyway, the 50mm FX may be just borderline for human portraits...
