Last year I visited Marrakech and sat out near the Koutoubia mosque for a couple of hours. It was constantly being photographed.
I had an idea that if there was a way to collate all the photographs taken of a place you could create some kind of multi angled timelapse thing (the idea has not...
I imagine on the 7D there are no audio gain controls? I'm guessing that would be the problem. I only have a basic understanding, but you could do either of the following:
1. Use a computer program such as Audacity to remove background noise
2. Record audio separately using something like a Zoom...
I have an a55 but I'm not sure if the video set up is the same. You don't have a lot of manual control over exposure - but I'd you manually focus you select the aperture before you push record and that will be the one it uses.
I found the noise quite an issue too and I think it was much worse with the other switch position. For £20 it does a decent job - I've upgraded to the rode video mic and the difference is noticeable (although still needs work in post).
Nicely shot, I like it.
Did you have to do much editing on the audio? I have the same mic (although I don't use it much now) and found the quality to be quite bad, but it doesn't seem as bad in this video.
I'm being offered some training in video production through work - which is great! It's my responsibility to find a course to do.
I'm think a one day type course will be the limit of time I can use. Does anybody know of good workshops/training courses? I can travel (not sure how far but I'm in...
Start with the end in mind - what you want to show, illustrate etc. then work out the best way of doing it. Sorry if that sounds a but cliche but it's a way of working that I tend to find works well! Look forward to seeing the next one.
