Upgrade to 7D Mark II, or stick with the 50D until something better comes along?

I bought my 50D about a week after they were made available, and have never regretted it. This camera has faithfully served me for the last 6 years or so and it still works great. Likewise, I've passed up a number of sucessors to the 50D including the 60D, 70D, and the original 7D. I never saw...

Ineterested in a Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 SP Di USD XLD Digital SLR Cameras

My telephoto is about to give up the ghost, and I'm in the market for a new(er) telephoto... I saw an ad for this guy in a magazine the piqued my interest. I was wondering of any here owned one of these. I'd like some honest opinions about them. I'm also debating whether or not to go with a...

HDRs - 3 exposures from one RAW or multiple shots

If you want the HDR "look", Rather than create 3 files, you can try reducing the contrast and blacks to make the image look flat. This is counter intuitive, but is preserves more of the information in the highlights and shadows on the image. Then take that image into your HDR software and apply...

HDRs - 3 exposures from one RAW or multiple shots

I generally use 3 RAW photos and export from Lightroom to Photomatix- not a big hassle Even so, 1 raw still has a limited dynamic range compared to even 3 JPEG. If you're using HDR to capture something that could be done with 1 shot, then why bother with HDR?

    Webby 52 Week 4 - Open

Nice idea... The focus is a little soft on the top...maybe turn down the aperture some... Also, I'd do bounce flash for diffuse it some to soften the shadows some....I think they're distracting....

    Tips for Photoblogging with WordPress

Thought I'd share some musing about my photoblogging experience on my site... A little over a year ago, I decided to concentrate my blogging efforts on photography after not successfully being able to blog about anything else. I opted to go with WordPress as a blogging platform, because...

    Camera Recommendation please?

Concerning bodies, I use Canon, so I know their line...I think the 40d and 50d with a good lens are good choices. If you're not vehemently opposed to used equipment, you might find a good deal on a 40d or 50d on eBay or something like for the same price as a newer lower-end camera. These are...

Poissible change in lens Line up - opinions.

I think primes are always a good bet...but I don't know that I'd part with my zoom lenses, reason being is that I can't always carry 3 or 4 primes with me.
