I wasn't aware the 40D was that bad! I've a 7D arriving today, which I am praying, will be better

Ok, so er, looks like I have a serious fault... ISO400, um, I really shouldn't get THIS much noise on ISO400 with a 1/2000 shutter speed (there is NO editing going on here, I swear!) http://grab.by/9EfD Thoughts?

True, I think it's also fair to say that since I've been shooting on Adobe RGB for so long, in RAW i've come to view things a little differently, plus my camera (40D) has long since had one or two issues with balancing and metering, so perhaps that's all it is, just a culmination of factors...

What does photographer need to be a good one?

A good photographer? Doesn't matter what tools they use, but they will always, ALWAYS be able to get a good shot, even if it's a polaroid. I suppose, being a good photographer isn't about seeing good things and snapping them, it's about manipulating EVERYTHING to create a good shot, even the...

I've just found my first model!

As Ian says, the hardest part is directing, and the first time I did any form of professional shooting I was a complete wreck, but what I tend to do is sit down and ask them if there are any particular shots that they have done before that have come out well before, and see if we can revisit...

haha, I don't know, my boss loved it, Oggy - I'll give sRGB a go, certainly seems that this could be the case for reference, I shoot in RAW, so it looks like there's some editing to be done anyway! For years I've been using Adobe RGB as I'd been 'told and taught' various things...

Anyone got a BG-E7? Quick question

ah fair enough, really odd since every camera I've had and battery grip has been a physical button, with a 'click' for lack of a better expression and a half press for focus... thanks

Anyone got a BG-E7? Quick question

If anyone has the battery grip, BG-E7, can you tell me if your shutter release button clicks? Seems mine is just a soft button, no half press etc

I'm shooting in Adobe RGB according to my menu as opposed to sRGB

Just found a Nikon example for you, this is an ideal look at the kind of colour reproduction I was seeing, now granted this image isn't mine, and it's probably been edited, but its quite similar to the non edited shots I saw before, very sharp, VERY sharp, and the colour is great...

    Star Trails

focus at infinity if your lens supports it! Funny, I was tying to do a super super long exposure with about 3 gradient filters on top, it worked, but not well enough and a 28 minute exposure didn't quite work... didn't really think about shooting tonnes and tonnes of pictures!

Wedding Togs- have a look at this!

forgive me for saying so but I'm pretty certain that this story was posted about two years ago.. in fact I'm almost certain I read something similar word for word... still, does make you wonder just how many people pick up a camera and go 'OOOH I'LL HAVE A GO AT THAT, I'VE GOT THE GEAR NOW'...

u8myufo - Good idea, I'll try and get a shot of something as an example or least pull a raw off when I finish this 12 day 12 hour shift business... *shudders* terryt - I believe most of them have a little, but I'm seeing more and more where people claim no editing has taken place... quite...

    Looking for a stealth bag

I know this might be a little different to what you're looking for, but have you looked at Thom Bihn? I came across a couple of bags suitable for cameras as I was on the hunt for an iPad bag, I'll try and dig out some links
