I recently bought some extra batteries for my om1's for my Gambia trip. From a company called DOT.FOTOThe O in DOT is actually a blue O with a . In it.Anyway £33.37 got me 2 batteries delivered. So build quality from the outside Seems better than the originals. They charge in the Olympus charger...
I haven't been on for a while and I did wonder why I hadn't seen anyposts by Chris/ Cobra. A really nice, fair guy he will be sorely missed. My belated condolences to his family.
The reason I use +2 on the AF speed means the camera is refocusing quicker on the subject. The downside is if you drop off the subject it snaps to the background quicker. If you are using all af points i have found by keeping the same af points on the subject the AF system seems to be more...
Hi Pete
I changed over to the om1 a while ago so this is from memory.
I used to set custom groupings of AF points
For certain conditions and back grounds.
I used C-AF and tracking and +2 on the AF sensitivity I also used the Cs settings on the top dial.
I lot of people will disagree with it but...
Yes Behop I have a pair of them twinned with the 150-400. I never have a problem with them. That said even my friends will tell you I'm a bit of a freak of nature when it comes to tracking things in flight.
I've always had good hand eye coordination and I set the camera up to my abilities...
I've never had a problem with the OM 1 mki with the lens focusing while zooming I was doing an awful lot of it while I was in florida doing Osprey same when I was doing the waxwings in flight come to that I never had a
Problem with my em1x either
Makes me laugh a bit the new om1 mkii autofocus is far better says reports.
Maybe the people using it just need to understand the mki a bit better. Locks on and sticks like glue I'm regularly binning perfectly good images. You just get so many keepers.
On the other hand maybe they need to be a...
I really think om1 mki users should boycott the mk ii version and wait for the mkiii version it might teach om systems a valuable lesson for the future. Don't alienate your loyal customers.
I'm willing to bet people won't be able to resist though.
It might be interesting in the future with...
I'm going to float an interesting idea out there.
What's the chances we are going to see some more Om mount lenses made by sigma thinking more along the lines of longer stuff.
70-200mm f2.8
Maybe a 120mm-300mm f2.8 these two would be something I would give serious thought to.
I totally agree with you. I was a Canon and Olympus user I was forced to make the decision to swap due to major back issues. Like I said in my post I won't be swapping mine in for the new model.
I'm not interested in the new kit lens.
The 150-600 does have a few things going for it
One being it...
Looks like a few nice tweaks they have increased the subject detect mode and added Nd grads and doubled the buffer (be interested to know how much longer that will take to clear as the G9 mkii takes a while) that said I very rarely ever fill the buffer.
We also have a couple of extra frame...
I was just about to post this you beat me too it's a bit different though
https://photorumors.com/2024/01/26/om-system-m-zuiko-digital-ed-150-600mm-f-5-0-6-3-lens-leaked-on-amazon-available-for-pre-order/amp/
It will be a shrunken version and in theory should actually be sharper around the edges of the frame the extra price will be because of the smaller amount of sales. In theory the AF of the lens should be better because Sigma will have access to all the specs and are being licensed to build it...
