Notice Some big changes coming to TP

When I read the first post it was very sad that the forum might close down. I joined this forum 14 years ago, and learned so much, and built up some great photography kit, mostly purchased from the fantastic people on these forums. I'd stepped away for photography for a good few years due to...

Thanks everyone for their contributions to the thread, some really good information and reviews here. I've just booked a holiday to New York in October and want to get myself a decent travel tripod for some city scape shots.

How to rid myself of that self-conscious feeling.

I've been into photography for years and this still bothers me from time to time, but I just try and ignore it. I just tell myself life's to short to worry about what other people think. A good friend once told me 'what other people think is none of my business' :-D Just get out there with...

    High end Compact

I have the x10 and its a great little camera, image quality is very good. What about the Panasonic Lumix FZ200 bridge? Gets some good write ups, 25x zoom and f2.8 aperture throughout. Little on the big side, but not too much bigger than the Canon.

    Compact Camera / Camcorder ?

Hmm, I'm going to add the Sony to my list too, it does look a very good camera. Yes your right about the G12, not very good video, I know on my G7 the sound and video were good for gigs, but i bought a G10 and they changed something, video wasnt as good, and the sound just recorded a buzzing...

    Superzoom compact recommendations

Hey, I'm also looking for one of these for taking to music gigs, I've read review after review, and from what I read the Panasonic TZ30 is the standout contender, I have a TZ10, and it's been a great little camera, and all reviews state panasonic have improved on this with the TZ20 and now...

    Compact Camera / Camcorder ?

I'm looking for the same for music gigs etc. I've sort of narrowed it down to the Panasonic DMC-FZ150 Or the Panasonic Lumix TZ30. The FZ150 might be out of your price range, but the TZ30 Might be worth a look

Looking for a Compact Bridge Type Camera (Long Zoom Range)

Yup it's a fine line I'm treading I know! but I've had good results with compacts up to f4.4, just depends on the light really. I've already got a Canon 7D SLR and some good quality L series lenses, so that's not the issue. Security chaps are unlikely to let me in with any type of SLR...

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations. I go to a lot of gigs and like to take photos, i've also shots gigs with my SLR in the past but obviously I dont get in with my SLR if i'm just s regular gig goer. I've had Canon powershot G series and S95 cameras, Panasonic...

Mirror is down, nothing happens when the shutter button is pressed. Also when the lever is flicked, it doesn't spring back into position, it also doesn't flick all the way round, it stops dead halfway with no give
