I'm sure this is pretty simple, rudimentary stuff, so apologies in advance for the dumbness - Want to print my images 10 x 8 as have some nice frames for these, however my photos are being compromised (in size) to accommodate this standard fit; cutting off the edges :(

I touch with LR very lightly as shoot RAW (highlights/shadows/saturation/lens correction). I have never touched the sharpening tool, however hear a lot of chat about people using it.
Is this part of the worfklow for most, or is it just something that doesn't hold that great deal of...
But I was hoping a better camera would compensate for my ineptness :) ...jokes.
I got a 35mm prime at the weekend and I'm zooming with my feet. Great craic!

The hunt has been exhausting and I'm still non the wiser. Youtube has been raided, have checked data on Flickr pics for assistance etc etc. The choice is overwhelming!
Currently only have the kit lens and looking for something that will aid me in my urban/architectural/streetscape/concrete...
I use LR. Though as I read/investigate replies, it appears my quandary isn't so much sharpening, as more so pixel size.
So to reitrate, 1024 for web use/pre-Flickr upload? standard?
And original for printing?

OK, this is where I'm confuzzled - I shoot RAW, CONVERT to Jpeg and then upload to Flickr *without resizing* - voila Flickr appears sharper.
So, should I:
1 - resize the RAW to 1024 before upping to Flickr?
2 - Or resize the converted RAW (Jpeg) to 1024 before upping to Flickr?
