Anyone completed an online TEFL course?

The main benefit of doing any TEFL course is the supervised classroom experience. An online course would be pretty pointless in my opinion (I've done CELTA, DELTA and an MA in EFL).

    Don't screw with me ;o)

I got some ant stop granules the other day to get rid of the ones in my garden. Is this stuff any good?

    Don't screw with me ;o)

The vast majority of the ants on a colony are infertile, only the queen and a few male drones get to mate. Best just to nuke 'em.

Canon FD 50mm lens urgent question!

Hi All, Can anyone answer a simple question for me? I recently sold a Canon 50mm FD lens for a friend (I have never used Canon). The buyer has queried whether the lens is working properly because he cannot open and close the aperture by using the aperture ring. I know on a Nikon lens you can do...

An explanation from a security guard on why "you can't take photos here"....

If security guards just ignored them, there wouldn't be a problem.

An explanation from a security guard on why "you can't take photos here"....

You have my sympathies, this is no way to treat an employee. The security industry does seem to be largely unregulated. Perhaps if it were run along more professional lines, with better training and job security for the guards, the kinds of problems we see in these videos would be less common...

An explanation from a security guard on why "you can't take photos here"....

In most of these cases, there seems to be a company policy about photography, or at least the guards claim that there is. However, it seems that these policies often directly contradict the law. Security companies should be aware of the law, they should make their employees aware of the law, and...

An explanation from a security guard on why "you can't take photos here"....

It's a bit much claiming that the security guards were being picked on! They were they ones trying to stop someone doing something they're perfectly entitled to do, and using threats too! If they ended up looking foolish, it's their own faults. Yes, they might be under pressure from management...

An explanation from a security guard on why "you can't take photos here"....

That's a huge assumption, isn't it? Unless you know something we don't. They would have been wise to check the law before wading in. A quick internet search would have put them straight. They could then have approached him in a more conciliatory manner, perhaps explaining that whilst they...

An explanation from a security guard on why "you can't take photos here"....

I think they managed to belittle themselves without the help of the photographer. An over-inflated sense of their own importance coupled with ignorance of the law is not a good combination for a security guard.
