Slightly different way of doing it would be to use a braided wire cable to secure the camera to the strap - basically a backup if the carabiner or connector fails.

My 85mm gets way more use nowadays than my 50mm simply because the IQ is better, but as mentioned it can be on the close side - but I like a tight crops so it kind of suits what I like anyway so it's a matter of taste.
If I could only have one of them I'd probably go for the 50mm though....
I picked an Apollo kit up from Premier Ink & Photographic a couple of weeks ago so they might be worth a whirl - I had tried a few other places first but they weren't expecting stock until mid to late June.
I'd been tempted with this for a while but the less than glowing reviews had put me off, so it's good to know it's not all bad. In fact I was looking to use it in exactly the same way you have so it looks like it'll be worth a punt - thanks for the writeup!

I totally agree. I provide feedback where I think I can add something rather than for the sake of it, I find it makes you think a bit more which benefits you just as much as the OP....and I can find bad photos just as interesting as good ones, if I didn't I'd have to delete most of mine ;)

Agreed but most folks don't like to cause offence so it's easier to say nothing rather than post negative feedback. I think most forum users have seen even the best intentioned crit end up with internet war.
Personally I only comment on photos that interest me, sometimes the crit is positive...
