Jessops on the verge of administration

Jessops - Advice for Life, should read 'A Vice for Life' Website now down, just a letter from the administrator telling customers of how to claim for vouchers etc. From going into administration 2 days ago to a total closure today, just shows how bad this company has been in for a very, very...

they'll get paid. They will only be owed the first 10 days of january and there redundancy will come through fairly sharpish too [from the govt fund]. One week for each year. As for stuffing your pockets full of gear, says alot about you. :gag:

Jessops on the verge of administration

Jessops always loved their US blurb/nonsense speech, but its true. Their add-on rate in recent months was something like 40% so if you sold a £100 camera you were expected to sell ad ons of £40 and if you didn't you'd get a blasting from some moron manager / area manager. This is just so...

.and I love the one about Adams wanting to save the company by writing off the £30M debt. These guys are bi-polar. He ran off to HMV with billy-no-mates Moore and his hatred of tattoos, with a big wad in their back pockets and more to come, when HMV goes belly up soon. Anyone remember the 'fish'...

Jessops on the verge of administration

in my experience, if you are polite and courteous with the staff, they'll quietly let you have what is rightly yours. If you go in guns blazing, you only deserve the worst. Respect is the order of the day.

...and any vitriole should be directed at the administrators and/or bosses, not the poor staff, who will inevitably lose far more than the gift vouchers anyone unfortunately bought or was given. THEIR JOBS.

Jessops on the verge of administration

 after all the posts saying how rubbish Jessops are/were, suddenly all their customers come out of the woodwork on this site. Jacobs folded six months ago and no-one took any of their profitable shops on. Why necessarily will anyone want to take Jessops on board? In reality this company...

Jessops on the verge of administration

A nail in the coffin for yet another specialist retailer. Operating on the high street is expensive - rent, rates, bills, wages, stock etc that online retailers don't have. Nowhere to handle is a good thing for people who do this but then buy online, they get what they deserve. To the thousands...

    Jacobs gone bump!

I can prove it, because thats what was TOLD to me, by the very customers who I directed to Jessops to say "sorry we don't have it in store, but you could try across the road" and who replied "not on your nelly, not never, not ever, they don't know what they're talking about and they don't even...

    Jacobs gone bump!

1 Leicester store open and head office to tie things up. Online store may be up, but it ain't running. This company is dead and buried, or they are just lowering the coffin into the grave. Onestopdigital here we come!

    Jacobs gone bump!

All shops closed last night at 5pm. And strangely enough anyone who left Jessops is certainly NOT regretting it. I worked at the New Oxford Street store and to a man customers who shopped with us refused to even step into the shop across the road! End of an era. Now lets see how long Jessops can...
