Hi cliff I'd go for the first option, although it's a half decent kit lens, you'll be craving more than just the 18-55mm within a couple of days! I certainly was and dipped into a 55-300mm Nikon VR lens as I felt I needed more range. I find it's always better to have sone choice than no choice...
