Amazon sell the 2800 Uniross for about £6 for 4 or the eneloops 2100 for about the same cost.

Likewise, I use Uniross Hybrio rechargeable or Sanyo eneloop and easy get a few hundred shots.

I am looking to get a couple of a1/a2 prints done of our newborn princess. Taken with a d700 and output in raw-tiff. I have a 7 colour epson 2880 and am very pleased with that level of quality on 260gm paper - can anyone recommend a reasonable printing service who could match that quality...

Also give the tamron 90mm 2.8 consideration - tis an awesome oprit, often compared in equal in outright IQ to the £600 105 Nikon - na d SH can be picked up for £200 !! Leaving you budget towards upgrading the 18 - 135mm :D
