I think it depends on why you want the camera. The fact that you say you want a 'classic' tells me you really want the F-1! I have a 'New F-1' with the standard (non-AE) prism, so it's actually less capable in this form than the A-1.
The F-1 is certainly the more classic of the two though but...
Are you particularly wedded to the field of view you get with a 50mm on the Canon? If so, you would need a (50*1.60) / 2 = 40mm to get the equivalent FoV on (micro) Four Thirds.
