    Help me with Filters please

Yep, you need to get the adaptor ring that attaches to the front of your filter holder with the existing screws. They are £27 +VAT on the Robert White site. Then comes the price of the filter itself....

Do I stay with Nikon or move to Canon? Please read

Coming from a Mac (Canon) vs PC (Nikon).....(only joking! :D) perspective I can totally understand where you are coming from here. Seriously - go and try both out and see what you prefer. I find the Canon menu system very intuitive, and they feel good, but then again I'm not very familiar...

    auto open with adobe bridge

Have you tried checking the "when a camera is connected, launch Adobe Photodownloader" box in Bridge Preferences? It can be found by clicking Bridge CS3>Preferences>General. This should then automatically launch when you connect a memory card. I use a Mac, but I would have thought it will...

Canon EOS Magazine - is there an equivalent for Nikon and Sony users?

Many thanks for the info, though it does seem more than a tad pricey :( Perhaps the other benefits you get are worth the price maybe? The EOS mag is great, can't recommend it enough  I agree.

Canon EOS Magazine - is there an equivalent for Nikon and Sony users?

I'm teaching an evening course for DSLR users which is aimed at helping them understand and get more from their cameras. Most of the students are beginners. I subscribe to EOS magazine and find the articles very useful, but obviously it's aimed at Canon users. Are there equivalents out there...

Carbon fibre vs aluminum, please help me make a decision

Following on from my previous thread: http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=85220 I need to make a decision between a Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 or a 190XPROB. I was originally going for the carbon fibre 190CXPRO4 for the lightness and compact size - good for carting around...

    Anyone got a Manfrotto 190CXPRO4? Or a 190CXPRO3?

Thanks George Surely there must be someone out there who's got the carbon fibre version? :tumbleweed:

    Anyone got a Manfrotto 190CXPRO4? Or a 190CXPRO3?

Just bought one of these yesterday (PRO4), but had to take it back to the shop today due to a piece of plastic that "pinged" it's way across the room last evening when I was playing with the 90 degrees quick adjust column. Turned out that the piece of plastic is part of the ovally (sorry no pics...

    50D v 40D. Prices

Just to add another spanner in the works - if you really want a 50D and can wait a while, you would probably benefit from waiting for Focus at Birmingham NEC in Feb 2009 (see thread in Meeting Place). I got my 40D body there this year for £349 :D after cashback. You may still get a great deal on...

    New to film...

Sorry forgot to mention that without the above you can still get your films developed at a decent shop (B/W will prob take about a week though) but there is nothing like doing your own - sort of magic really :)

    New to film...

:lol::lol: If you are going to get into film big time (as in developing your own prints) then you need to have your own darkroom (or know someone who has one). Either temporarily convert your bathroom or if you're lucky permanently convert a spare room. This means totally blacked...
