    iPads from the States

iPad 3 would be nice, but based on cost and what I'll use it for I think the 2 should be fine. As long as it works it's financially better to risk the VAT, and amazon quotes prices inclusive of all taxes ... decision made! Thanks guys

    iPads from the States

Possibly the wrong forum, but worth asking the question ... I may have the opportunity to visit the States over the next few weeks and was wondering if there were any issues with buying an iPad2 over there and then bringing it back to the UK ... mostly concerned with functionality as some...

Movember 2011 - The Official Thread

I'm taking part in this too ... my first 'tash ever! Hopefully past the itchy part, but definitely not past the dodgy look!! http://mobro.co/andrewstretch How are people getting along with the sponsorship? I'm secretly hoping that people are just waiting to see if I make the full month before...

Do you take your dslr on your hols ?

I always take mine everywhere I go - sometimes I leave it at airport security, fortunately they gave it back to me! Personally don't see the point of spening all that money and then not taking it to places, kinda defeats the point.

    Tamron vs Canon

Thanks for the advice - I don't think I'm in to landscapes enough to warrant the expenditure - me thinks you've saved me some money!!

    Tamron vs Canon

Has anyone on here moved from the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 to the Canon 17-40 f4 L? I'm wondering whether it's worth it ... the Tamron seems to be pretty good, but I'm thinking of treating myself!

    Insurance question

    Insurance question

Thanks guys - the policy states cover of personal possession up to £5k away from home, but the camera equipment itself is specifically insured ... as suggested the best way will be contact the insurance company, though I'm still holding out some hope that it can be found!

    Insurance question

Obviously I'll have to check the fine print, but in general does your household contents insurance cover you (for being an idiot) and leaving your camera bag in an airport?

    New Top Gear tonight...

Kinda agree with this, however I (somehow) managed to sit through 2 episodes of 5th gear today and realised how the 'tired' TG formula is sooo much better!

    I think I'm jinxed!

 the 'sight-seeing' is certainly interesting! Unfortunately I'm not going to the race, I'm in a small town about an hour south of Sao Paulo. Had a similar experience in Surfer's Paradise a few years back, stayed for 3 days and all it did was rain. The local's comments of "This is...

    I think I'm jinxed!

You'd think, but if you've been watching the F1 you'll know that it's been pouring down most of the day. Still it could be worse I suppose ...

    I think I'm jinxed!

This is the third time I've been to Brazil, fourth weekend spent here, and every time it rains! Sooo frustrating :bang:

    UFO?

Not sure how high Chinese lanterns can get, but these were very high, and certainly didn't have the flight characteristics of a balloon or a craft without an engine.

    UFO?

I've just seen two abnormally bright lights in the sky - definitey not 'standard' aircraft given the brightness of the lights and the fact that one was stationary for a while ... at a guess they're heading south east and i'm based in the north west. Very strange.
