A laptop is expandable (in most cases), a Mac you have to get it right when you buy it. This is the reason i use laptops, i go a 16gb , 512 m2 ssd. I upgraded it to 64gb, 4 tb . It cost in total including the laptop, approx £1100
Tbh the photoshop elements if it functions , should be enough for the casual photographer. Must people use about 1% of the features of the full photoshop
Windows 10 will be ok for a number of years, no updates but will still be fully operational. Some of my computers are still on windows 10, and for what i need the do the jobs i use them for.
Ethernet is fastest when the computer has a rj45, if you uses and adaptor , it can only run as fast as the usb adaptor, Wi-Fi is the second fastest depending on what Wi-Fi is in the computer. I have tested an rj45 adaptor on my laptop and it was slower than wifi
The mac or any device can only connect at the max speed of the ethernet adaptor of the device, so if its not capible of 2.5 it wont make any difference
If lightroom had all the functions of photoshop , it would be more complicated, its main jobs are cataloging, grading images , minor adjustments. Which inch it does perfectly
Lr is the best, and probably the hardest to .learn, it is a professional product, which means in most peoples mind easy to use. But that has never been the case., a professional product has always required a bit of knowledge about the ;process
