    Good to hear that.

Yes in shutter priority mode, if underexposed the aperture value will flash to indicate there is not enough light.

The 22mm lens should give you plenty of depth of field at f2 for a shot like this, but it will vignette (darker corners) which can be corrected either in camera or in post processing. To correct in camera go into Menu, first section, fourth line down "Lens Aberration Correction" select then...

    Focus issues photographing the moon

There's your answer, the camera failed to focus by the sounds of it. Your eyes appear to be more reliable than the tech. Try taking control rather than rely on the technology when it fails to give you the results.

 I didn't even think of that, I switch between the two so easily, I forget all about it and don' t even notice the difference. Seems weird when I think about it, but think it might be to do with the lenses. I only tend to use a viewfinder with larger or longer lenses and as I tend...

LOL, yes it's a real problem deciding which camera to attach my favourite lens to ;) Yes I keep looking at the R's too and getting tempted, but then put my sensible hat on and manage to resist (so far). Sometimes the M50 is too much camera for me, which is why I enjoy the M100 so much. I...

Ditto :) Call me a bit weird, but I still really enjoy using the original EOS-M despite it's shortcomings and will probably continue to do so until it breaks. Having said that the M100 has stolen the EF-M 22mm and has become the "Grab n Go" choice most of the time.

Only the newest, the M6 mk2 has focus stacking so far. Hopefully it will be included as standard on future models, but with Canon you can't take it for granted :)

Just a shot in the dark (pun not really intended) but have you got "Exp Sim" (exposure simulation) turned on? I know this one has caught me out a few times.

LOL, let's hope so. It was sparkly clear here in Devon about 3.00 am and too hot for sleep, so I have no excuse, really should have gone out, no excuse, just lazy ;)

Nice and clear with good detail. Was surprised how bright it was when I looked out last night, now regret not going out to take some pics.

That's not too bad considering the focal reducer was used, I'm guessing you don't have a straight through adapter yet? I suspect you will give a marked improvement.

LOL, don't worry, once you use it you will realise it's no toy ;) Have fun.

Not sure, only L lens I've used is the 17-40mm, which is surpassed by the native EFM 11-22mm in all respects. I guess it will depend on the age of the lens aswell, many L lenses will have been designed prior to mirrorless being even thought of :)

Depends on the info being reported to the camera from the lens, some have firmware that report corrected info, some don't. It may be that some lenses can have their firmware updated, Sigma and Tamron lenses often need updating in order to function fully.
