Yeah, I regularly shoot with a Canon 28mm FD 2.8. Love the manual focus but would not be against going wider and no doubt as you say the Voigtander will be a better piece of glass.

Really interested in the idea of it, but the price is on the high side for me. That said I am in Japan in September for the Rugby World Cup...

Have shot with both at the same time. 1DX is a different level, albeit I used them for sport not wildlife.

I have a feeling we are in the clear. It actually looks like a picture now when I look through it and the only scratches etc I see are on the mirror so will be of not issue. New battery should arrive by the end of the week so will get through some film after that.

Put a mint 28mm 2.8 FD on it this morning and look through the eye piece, was nearly bowled over with the brightness and clarity of what I saw!

It certainly wasn’t the lens I had ‘tested’ on my Sony.

I’m surprised any light could get in at all, or I was even able to focus as much as I did!

Oh boy! I was being an idiot! Full explanation to come when I get a chance. Took the camera apart and checked every piece, let's just say I wasn't using the lens I thought I was!
