That was a fairly big problem most of the weekend, but like you say, closer to the ground. I have similar shots to the above that are sharp.

This lens doesn't have IS.

Yes, did a few test shots and it does focus on a static object, images were fine. No filters attached. I also used my EF 100-400 MkII this weekend which worked as intended, other than a lot of user error.

Thanks Neil. I already have an EF 100-400 MkII, so I'm keen on this due to the weight and IQ. And obviously the displays at RIAT usually require 400mm +.

Finally some good luck for me for a change. Got a phone call on Friday to say the R7 has turned up at WEX repaired. Time to get ready for RIAT. I've also just picked up a used EF 400mm f5.6 USM. Does anyone here have experience of this combo?

That would make some sense. However it doesn't excuse the really poor level of service. If I'd known about these delays a few weeks ago when I kept having faith they would be repaired, then maybe I could have got them repaired elsewhere. Now I'm left not knowing when I'll get my kit back.

Well Fixation still have my camera and lens for repair almost 7 weeks later. They are having IT issues apparently. The customer service has been a joke, one minute being told my lens was being repaired then it is waiting for parts along with my R7. Thoroughly brassed off. I've got a couple of...

Repair costs have come back, £1100 in total to fix both. It's cheaper to repair than replace, so I'll be repairing. The main costs where on the lens where the USM assembly was broken along with one of the PCB's. The collar and the screws where very cheap in comparison.

Home insurance will cover single items not listed up to £1500, but not away from home.
