    Laugh all you want but..........

Not sure. The images on both links you provided are the same. Plus, I've never seen a f/4.5 on a 55-200mm.

    SB-600 needs repairing

Hehe glad I can help. I got mine from Gray's of Westminster, and cursed their name when I thought they sold me a faulty device. Retracted the wide-angle diffuser, and was full of joy. Oh, and welcome to TP.

    SB-600 needs repairing

Are you sure? I had that problem when I first got mine, and I just retracted the wide-angle diffuser to get it zooming again.

    Nikon D90 ISO

I stick to 200ISO. I've heard bad things about the boost value ISOs. Better to leave them. If LO's were really up to scratch with the ISO equivalents, there wouldn't be a need for these boosts.

Hehe, and his D40, don't forget.

What my original intention was, was to find a lens which covers more wide to mid telephoto ranges, but also having greater BQ and IQ. The 18-200mm is great, undoubtedly. However, I never find myself using past 130mm. Sure, it gives me extra reach, but it's not my agenda to be able to go that...

What do you think is best?

What is your budget. For starter Nikons, the D90 is undoubtedly the choice to go. Like above, the D40 D60 D5000 D3000 all have no auto focusing mechanisms, purely relying on AF-S lens, which, if you're serious about photography, you will find yourself restricted, and paying alot of money for...

Does anyone buy high capacity memory cards?

Can anyone tell me the point of having higher speed memory cards? Is it the difference between camera write speed, or transfer speed to the PC?

Thanks for those comments. I still want to consider the 16-85mm, but would like more opinions.

Well, it's because I have a voucher from Jacobs that I want to use. £80 off the 16-85mm from the RRP of £443.99, which makes that about £365. Would you think that's a worthy deal? Selling my 18-200 for £390, and taking the 16-85 instead?

What do you think of the 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX NIKKOR

    New walkabout lens. Nikonians.

Guess I didn't do my research before putting it up for sale. The other lens I thought of was the 18-105, but that's just the kit lens.
