I've got the Tamron version of this lens, and generally find F8 to be pretty sharp.

It is indeed. My last camera was a K100D - which is what I notice you use (my first DSLR in fact) and a fab one it was too!

Just thought I'd say a big hi from deepest darkest Helsby (in Cheshire-bout 7 miles From Chester). I use a Pentax k20D which is a fab camera. Have been into photography for about 7 years now and I'm pleased with my work, though I'm not a pro, it's just a hobby for me. One that I enjoy immensely.
