Hello all!
Just looking for some basic tips really, tomorrow I'm going to a detailing meet and there will be a couple of nice motors to look at!
Im going to bring my mtl5 and tl5b along with a couple of lenses. Would anyone be able to give me an idea of roughly what settings I should be...
Carter - again Thanks a lot for explaining that! It's slowly starting to sink in :)
Chris - yeah I've heard about a couple of lenses with macro settings, but I definitely agree with the tripod suggestion haha! I haven't got the most steady of hands :(
Steve - how much for the extension tubes...
Some really useful help and advice there mate :)
What exactly is it that the extension tubes do to the standard lens - apart from what you've described already regards to stopping down the lens?
I'll have to give it a try and get through a few rolls of film, testing upto what aperture I can...
Haha glad to hear that they were fond memories for you!
I'll have to read a little into that, sounds interesting to say the least!
Thanks for the advice :)
Hey guys and girls :)
I've recently just started to try and "get into" photography. I'm using a mint condition Praktica MTL 5 that was given to me and I must say it's such fun to use! Very nostalgic I guess! Looking to be upgrading to an Olympus OM1 in the near future once I've (hopefully)...
Glad to hear its an enjoyable experience as its something I'd like to try at some point!
I agree in that the overhead shot does look a lot better! The contrast in the shadows is sharper and more striking. The 45 degree angle shot is a little over exposed for me :)

Hi Andy,
Yeah I did see those ones but had my suspicions about them lol! Thanks, I'll look into getting one of the genuine ones then! I dont suppose you've any idea of the difference between them would you - in terms of 'nsp1' and lsp1 or something like that? Haha!
Ah! I thought they might be...
Well this certainly answers my question in terms of cleaning lenses!
I'm going to look at getting a rocket blower and a decent cloth.
Just wondering, with regards to the lens pens, would people recommend buying the genuine one or will one of the cheap £1.79 imitation ones do the trick...
Haha you can't hate me for loving the (dark) other side? Although I'd probably call it the same in terms of you and Hondas haha ;)
Yeah always been around them/into them and think they're a great subject to photograph!
Not yet, have a quick read of my welcome thread if you like :)
I'm from...
