It's amazing in their feel at home countries but a bit pricy elsewhere. I live half the time in the Czech Rep. and it's about 20p per min to make calls but a lot less to receive. I only turn data on when I need it for a day and do the £5 europass thing. The EU is supposed to be treated as one...

Also check out the Rode smart Lav+, cracking mic but records to smartphone so you have to sync later but aside from that a great solution. Cheap as chips too

I have a lanparte follow focus and base plate with rails and V-Lock battery plate, although not the shoulder mount system. The quality is very good, I tried a few at various shows and of the non-premium bras theirs stuff was very well put together.

Have a look at the new Rode system that's just been announced, very good spec and excellent value. I have several of their mics and all very good.

Sorry to hear about your step-dad. Roa Island is a nice place, I work around Barrow quite a bit and I love that little area. The beach at Walney Island is also good as is Sanscale Haws. If you want to venture a little further out of town Wasdale is amazing but it would be about an hours drive.

Valley of fire is a great place for snaps, near the city by Lake Mead, also Red Rock Canyon just on the outskirts.
