I too have just signed up for a Lightroom subscription, but like the OP the initial set up and importing is the thing stopping me from using it at the moment.
At the moment my library is organised by event/holiday in iPhoto rather than date, year etc, so that seems like the most logical format...
Is there actually any technical argument as to why landscapes come out better on full frame vs. crop bodies, or is that people with FF equipment are likely to spend more on better quality lenses etc?
What's the feeling behind using the hyperfocul distance as an 'optimal' way of getting the best DoF for landscapes? I see lots of talk about it being the best way to get an acceptable focus throughout the picture, but not the best.
So far I've been using the crude 1/3 focus rule that I read...
