    430EXII or 580EX?

    I am a newbie in photography and I bought a Canon 500D with the 18-55 kit lens, and now I want to buy a flashgun. I will mainly use the camera for family pictures. If i was to choose between the 430EXII and the 580EX, which one do you think it will be better for me?
