    Photoshop CS5 is released....

If I could buy CS5 now I would. I'd like to try a trial/beta too but can't find one on general release. Interestingly Adobe want 20 quid more for the download version than the boxed/shipped version!

someone talk me out of my fit of madness

Congratulations. I say keep it, particularly as your existing SLR is 8 years old with 100K actuations - you clearly make use of your kit and don't just let it sit on the shelf. Enjoy! :)

    Asda printing

I paid nothing at snapfish and got a 5p print back. But it was really good!

    Photoshop CS5 is released....

After living off trials for the last few versions, I am intending to buy this one - though I'll wait to see how the Photoshop CS5 / Lightroom 3 integration works out. IMHO the CS4/LR2 integration feels clunky - but that's probably because I'm not disciplined to use LR for much more than...

    The 'Flickr' Effect

I read the first few posts here and thought "wtf?!" so was glad to see people eventually conclude that Flickr isn't messing with things! I haven't noticed any saturation changes or sharpening, and I would be surprised if they did (and annoyed!). As JL said, reasons for using Flickr are many. I...

    recommend me a Crumpler??

I've been. I don't know if they have everything in stock there but they certainly have a lot. They seem like a friendly bunch - I suggest you give them a call!

    recommend me a Crumpler??

Good call - and Clifton have the Muffin 7500 for the same price as Bristol (http://www.cliftoncameras.co.uk/Crumpler_Muffin_Top_7500). I've dealt with both companies - both over the phone and in person. I bought both of my current Crumplers from Clifton (Daily XXL and Pretty Boy XXXL) and would...

Guest at a wedding - choice of lenses?

Wow, three Steves in a row :-)

    recommend me a Crumpler??

Hi Peach, I have a Crumpler Pretty Boy XXXL/7500 and it fits a 40D with 24-105 mounted, a 70-200 f/4L IS and hoods loose on top (and you could fit a 430EX or 580EX inside the loose hoods). To be honest the Muffin Top you linked looks almost exactly the same as my Pretty Boy, so maybe they just...

Guest at a wedding - choice of lenses?

17-50 and 135 imho... though I find myself increasingly just taking my P&S to weddings rather than being "that guy" :)

    Strap for portrait use?

Hi all, I just ordered a grip for my 5D2 + 85L to help me more accurately handle my camera when shooting at wide apertures (i.e. being able to shoot in portrait mode with my arms help steady against my body, rather than with my elbow up in the air). Currently my cameras have OP/TECH pro...

    7D shutter noise

I still prefer the 5D2's "kerthunk". 7D doesn't sound too good to me... except when it's running at 8.5fps ;-)

    Nifty Fifty v Canon 35mm f2

For a crop body (like your 40D) I prefer the look of 35mm to that of 50mm. I use the 35mm f/2 on my 5D2 and 7D and love it. There's also the 30mm f/1.4 Sigma which gets good reviews (notwithstanding some focus issues with specific copies of the lens). In terms of build quality the 35 f/2 is...

New Canon 70-200L 2.8 MkII is fantastic! (Edit: £1890 at CameraWorld now!)

Wow HoppyUK, those results are surprising - particularly the new 70-200 @ 400mm vs the 100-400 @ 400... Still, the price is insane!
