Worth making sure the latest firmware is on whichever ssd is chosen (especially for the M5's) AHCI mode is on in the BIOS and check you are getting the throughput you expect with AS SSD Benchmark tool

Just fired up to double check but still no go: 350D will not work in 'PC Communication' mode (PTP yes but pointless imo) under 7 64bit. However a 32bit XP VM guest under the above host OS works fine as ever. Since op has a 50 and a 40 is confirmed working I guess I either upgrade the body...

Note quite answering op's question but Windows7 64bit doesn't seem to support the Canon software for tethered shoots. Only mention it in case someone tries a vm/wine solution. ed

Hi My much beloved 'nifty fifty' seems to have come apart from the barrel housing. It hasn't taken a hit and was working perfectly, AF made a slight grinding noise and upon examination the glass/mech no longer stay in the housing, there is about 2cm of play that allows the front to drop...

Personally I like the BB solution, probably because I just don't get on with Symbian. But being a 'business' device everything extra usually costs on the BB whereas there are plenty of free Symbian apps. I like the Itunes sync with the BB but don't like the inability to read PDF docs that are...
