    Big Norman?

Noticed on my Canon cashback application letter that Bignorman dot com is classed as a non-participating retailer and so would not qualify for Canon cashback offers. (assume the above talk about grey imports gives it away but...) just thought it might help someone

New MacOS summer 2012 - Mountain Lion

imessages very good indeed - service brings together desktop/laptops and ios handheld over 3g or wifi very fluidly. whilst it may not be a new concept it somehow seems to hold my attention a little more than the standard jabber type offering 10.7.3 needed to get going on the beta (if not given...

wait a couple of weeks or so and have a look at 'raspberry pi' (probably not plug and play but you cannot beat the price!) samsung bluray 5300 is net enabled but the interface speed left a little something to be desired.(which was a shame as I quite liked it)

    iMac vs PC?

Shooting tethered to SUSE Linux netbook?

Just fired up to double check but still no go: 350D will not work in 'PC Communication' mode (PTP yes but pointless imo) under 7 64bit. However a 32bit XP VM guest under the above host OS works fine as ever. Since op has a 50 and a 40 is confirmed working I guess I either upgrade the body...

Shooting tethered to SUSE Linux netbook?

Note quite answering op's question but Windows7 64bit doesn't seem to support the Canon software for tethered shoots. Only mention it in case someone tries a vm/wine solution. ed

Canon 50mm 1.8 II Repair Question?

Hi My much beloved 'nifty fifty' seems to have come apart from the barrel housing. It hasn't taken a hit and was working perfectly, AF made a slight grinding noise and upon examination the glass/mech no longer stay in the housing, there is about 2cm of play that allows the front to drop...

UPGRADE DUE:Nokia E71 or Blackberry Bold

Personally I like the BB solution, probably because I just don't get on with Symbian. But being a 'business' device everything extra usually costs on the BB whereas there are plenty of free Symbian apps. I like the Itunes sync with the BB but don't like the inability to read PDF docs that are...

    Best Place For Sekonic L308s

Hi All Have learnt that exposure outweighs just about everything else so am looking to pick up an L308s. Doesn't have to be new if there are any reasonable S/H dealers around. So if anyone has come across any good deals on the above please post your findings! Regards Ed
